No one in Germany and indeed the whole world can nowadays fail to see the extent of damage caused to the environment. The "absorbing capacity" of air and water is exhausted and climate change is doing the rest . Active environmental management is therefore an indispensable part of our corporate policy. Risk management is pursued in two senses of the word, involving not only active environmental protection but also the safeguarding of business interests. 
 
Environmental protection is not self-perpetuating. Our corporate environmental policy and a policy statement on occupational health & safety have become the basis for every decision taken at RUWEL. Such a strategy can only lead to allround success if we manage to attain the set ecological and economic goals together and in line with our customers and suppliers. Too, the cooperation of every single one of us at our various locations is absolutely necessary for this.
 
For RUWEL, therefore, practised environmental protection is a very important part of responsible actions in order to maintain and, where possible, improve the basis of living for ourselves and for all generations to come. Against this background we at RUWEL regard the promotion of sustainable development as a major challenge. Anyone who wishes to play a responsible part in shaping the future will be unable to avoid this challenge. In the process, ecological and economic interests need not in any way contradict each other. Protection of the environment and occupational health & safety are certainly not an end in themselves, but rather essential pillars in the profit-based orientation of an enterprise. Growth can only be accomplished when economics is brought into line with ecology. The projects carried out at the individual locations are evidence of the concrete implementation of this responsibility.
